FAQs

Question

What do I need to do for the background check?

Answer

As our wedding is on an active naval property, all guests coming on site will need to submit a quick background check. All guests should receive an email with the form directly from the venue coordinator, Breanna Rose. All forms must be submitted by July 31.

Question

How do I fill out the security form?

Answer

Guests should receive a form directly from the venue. Please ensure you fill out all fields in the form. Each guest will need their own form, even if you only receive one email. Forms will need to be filled out and signed, then sent back to the venue. Please note - it will ask for either passport or driver's license info; PLEASE USE WHICHEVER FORM OF ID YOU WILL HAVE WITH YOU THE DAY OF THE WEDDING. If you need help with your forms, please let us know!

Question

Where is the wedding?

Answer

Our wedding will be at the Hotel del Monte at the Post Graduate Naval School in Monterey, a historic hotel that was the start of 17 Mile Drive, now owned by the Navy.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

As much as we love all your littles, we are requesting an adults-only evening.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

We are registered through Zola, Crate & Barrel, and Williams-Sonoma. All can be found in the Registry tab on our website.

Question

What is the best way to get to the wedding?

Answer

Due to the nature of the property, guests will not be able to Uber or Lyft to the venue. Licensed yellow taxis are allowed on base, and you may also drive yourself onto base. Otherwise, we recommend planning on using our shuttle service that will pick up at the Hilton Garden Inn, whether you stay at the hotel or not. Shuttle service will start at 2:45. There is parking available on site, but please note that cars cannot be left overnight. If you are planning on celebrating late with us, we recommend the shuttle service. If you are driving, please allow yourself plenty of time to arrive, as all guests will have to check in through the security gate and we do anticipate a wait.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our wedding will be a black tie-optional event. The ceremony will be on the lawn, so please plan shoe choice accordingly. Monterey is also known to get chilly in the evenings, so it is recommended to bring a coat or wrap.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to the secure nature of our venue as well as space constraints, we've named all invited guests on your invitations, and cannot have any changes to the guest list.
