Annie and Jon met on Match in August 2018. We spoke for weeks and decided to meet in person. Our first offical date was at the Babylon Bean, a coffeehouse in Babylon Village. We talked for hours and walked together up and down Main Street. It was an instant connection since the first day and we both knew this was going to be something special.
Throughout their relationship, Annie would ask Jon when they would get engaged, Jon thought it would be fun to tease Annie by saying "5 years". especially during Covid, Jon would say that he didnt want to lessen the experience due to any covid restrictions at the time. He even had their families joining in on the fun. He had promised that it would be a surprise which it definitely was. Little did she know that Jon had been planning every detail for months leading up to it. Finally the day comes and all the planning is put in motion. On August 23, 2021 while in Disney World, that morning there was a knock on the hotel room door with a letter addressed to Jon, Signed from the President of Walt Disney Parks. Annie quickly scans the letter and discovers that Jon had won a contest for a scavenger hunt around Magic Kingdom from signing up for the Disney Visa card. Annie was very excited since these kinds of things were something they both loved. Little did she know that Jon had typed an official letter on Disney letterhead and even went as far as getting an offical signature ! As soon as they got in the park Annie was ready for the hunt which was to find Belle's lost roses. We went to the first three stops and took a picture, but no sign of the roses. At this time a parade had started and we followed it over to our 4th stop " The Partner Statue". When we got over to the front Annie saw a dozen roses on the floor next to a photographer and something started to just feel magical. Jon asked to take a picture and whispered "Do you know how I always say 5 years, well what if it was right now" and he dropped to his knee and asked " Will You Marry Me"! The tears started pouring and Annie couldn't even get the word YES out! After he stood back up we turned around to find both of our parents and families there to celebrate with us. Ultimately ending the night at dinner at the Be Our Guest Restaurant in the West Wing of Beast's Castle. It was the most magical proposal in the most magical place!
