Jake and Annie both attended The King's College in New York City and while the school is home to less than 1,000 students, the couple did not meet until Annie was a Sophomore and Jake a Junior. On a November night, both participated in an overnight school event called "12-hour Film Competition" and at 12:30 am Jake was hard at work with friends to complete the editing of their film when a distraction walked into the room. Little did he know that this distraction would take his mind off much more than iMovie in the coming weeks, months, and years. The two immediately became friends and could be found studying together in the library and laughing with friends after class. They had joked on a number of occasions about going to the Brooklyn Bridge and climbing to the top. On a cold January morning, Annie mentioned doing the stunt later that day so Jake waited for her to finish class, hoping she wasn't making a joke. When she entered the library where he was waiting, she gave him a look and said "let's go". They walked out of the school and over the bridge, getting to know each other better with every step. As they were arriving back at the school after their long walk, Jake asked Annie to go on a date and after a moment she agreed. Two years and one month later, the couple walked the famous bridge again, only to be concluded with a different question of the same nature.
