Dino and Annie met thanks to the clever matchmaking talents of Annie’s best friend Gioia. Gioia often brought Annie home to Hilton Head Island with her on breaks during college. It was there that Dino and Annie first crossed paths when the handsome Greek was out on the town vivaciously celebrating his birthday. Although Annie noticed him amongst the crowd, they didn’t mingle much. Over the next couple of years though, Hilton Head became Annie’s home away from home. Since their first meeting, Dino and Annie casually bumped into each other but Annie always played it cool and coy…to the extent that Dino will tell you he had no idea she was interested in him and thought she found him rather annoying. “She never really talked that much” he would say…and to anyone who truly knows Annie, this would have immediately raised an eyebrow but, Dino was intrigued. Sparks weren’t destined to fly until Spring Break 2013 and the St. Patrick’s Day festivities on the island. After a particularly delicious margarita (a truly traditional Irish beverage) crafted by her now maid of honor, Annie finally admitted that she thought Dino was pretty cute---who could ignore those eyelashes? Gioia then masterfully carried out an intricately and discretely woven plan to get the two of them together…by going to Dino and telling him Annie thought he was cute (a fact that came to light years later and of which Gioia has since been forgiven...since, you know, it turned out alright). And as they say the rest is history! The soon-to-be newlyweds made it through three blissful years as a long distance couple until Dino couldn’t take it anymore and left the palm trees and sandy beaches of Hilton Head, SC for the busy metropolitan skyline of the Queen City.
