There are countless activities to do in Encinitas, North County, and the rest of San Diego if you want to venture out: • San Diego Zoo or Safari Park: Our personal fave. Afterall, we are members....humble brag. • Torrey Pines: Known for it's expensive golfing and it's free incredible hikes! • Coastal Rail Trail: We recommend grabbing a coffee, starting in Cardiff, and completing the almost 3 mile loop through Cardiff/Encinitas. • Beaches are our strong suit. Annie grew up at Moonlight State Beach. We also love Swami's, Stonesteps, Cardiff Reef, or Seaside State Beach. If you want to see where Cory and Annie first met, head over to Beacon's. • Explore Carlsbad Village. There's so many awesome shops, restaurants, coffee shops and coastal views in this area. Fun to walk around and shop or eat/drink. • Bop around Balboa Park. We love South Park and North Park.
You're gonna need fuel. Here are our favorite spots! • Surfdog's Java Hut: a gem. Grab a latte and a brekkie burrito and pop over to Swami's beach to catch a sweet view of some local surfers • Rose Hill Provisions: a small little spot in Cardiff with some quality java! • Necessity Coffee: They just opened a new spot in downtown Encinitas and it's buzzin'! Cory loves the coffee tonics. • Lofty Coffee: an Encinitas Staple. Delicious overpriced Acai Bowls too. • Steady State Coffee Roasters: Annie's personal fave for a flat white and a breakfast sandwich. If you're going to check out Carlsbad Village, be sure to go to Steady State! • Encinitas Cafe: the perfect diner breakfast in downtown Encinitas. • Pipe's Cafe: Massive breakfast plates, burritos, and cheesy breakfast potatoes. • VG's Bakery: Try to find a better donut. Annie's favorite is the Chocolate Long John and Cory's is the Glazed Buttermilk Bar.
Here are some spots for you to get your fix for a quick lunch or a sit down dinner: • Seaside Market: known for it's Cardiff Crack marinated tri-tip. If you get the California Burrito, it's made with Cardiff Crack and french fries • Board n' Brew: the move is to go to the one in Del Mar, grab a sandwich, a fountain drink, and some chips, stroll on down to Powerhouse Park which is a park overlooking the ocean and enjoying yourself a nice lunch! • Taco Stand: An Encinitas staple. We both love the California burrito (sub chicken if you're Cory). • Hamburger Hut: fun vibes, yummy burgers and surprisingly delicious cocktails • Valentina: where Cory and Annie had their first date. A great spot for dinner! • The Crack Shack: chicken on chicken on chicken...but delicious. • Le Papagayo: broad menu, good drinks, reasonable spot for a fun sit down dinner! • Pacific Coast Grill: on the expensive side, but a really nice dinner spot—catch the sunset if you can! We love their sushi and drinks.
• The Shanty: Cardiff's local dive bar. One of the few dive bars where you can see the ocean from the patio. • Modern Times Brewing: nice spot just under the Encinitas sign (also have a delicious vegan menu!) • The Waverly: right in Cardiff, an excellent cocktail spot, also have a delightful dinner. • The Roxy: gets rowdy in the night time! Fun spot, good drink options. • Monarch: more south in Del Mar, an awesome rooftop overlooking Del Mar and the ocean. • Vaga: attached to the upscale Alila Marea hotel, this bar has outstanding views at the border of Encinitas and Carlsbad.
