Worth the hype if you’re a history buff! Annie has been to this museum several times and recommends it to every visitor. They now require advanced ticket purchases and weekends fill up so book early if you’re interested. You can visit the outside areas (Grassy Knoll and Elm Street) for free but parking in that area can be tricky and the road are busy. If you go, let us know your theories! 😆
Annie used to live in this bustling, thriving neighborhood. Home to many restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and the wine bar Annie & Connor had their first date (Neighborhood Cellar). Check out Whitehall Exchange for a dive bar with live music experience, Paradiso for breezy patio dining, La Reunion for an elevated cocktail or coffee experience, Revelers Hall for swing dancing, Lockhart for Texas barbecue and much much more!
Our favorite brewery/coffee shop. Connor and his station mates like to stop by after a shift for a “coffee” (beer) since they open at 7am. Our favorite beers are Necessary Evil, Half Life and Black Matter but they always have something new and wonderful on tap. Don’t forget to order some fries!
Bars and restaurants with outdoor dining on the scenic Lake Ray Hubbard
Downtown square (Hwy 205, N Goliad, Rusk, Washington & San Jacinto streets) in Rockwall typically has events along with many different restaurants and a wine bar (The Downing) that we love. Our dessert vendors have store fronts there, Bonafide Betties Pies & Wild Daisy Dessert Bar
Yes we put a grocery store on the Things to Do page because it’s not like a regular grocery store it’s a cool grocery store. Made to order foods, an amazing deli and wine/beer selection, a patio, live music and two bars, what’s not to like!
