Minnewaska State Park Preserve
Carriage Route Hike – relatively easy (i.e. no big uphills), can also mountain bike here and go for a dip in the lake! Gertrude’s Nose Hike – longer and more strenuous (though beautiful!) hike in the Minnewaska State Park
Mohonk Preserve
Trapps trailhead(s) leads to particularly good hikes, mountain biking, and climbing! Parking lots can sometimes fill up on busy weekends. Mohonk Mountain House – a fancy shmancy hotel that also has fun outdoor activities for a fee (hiking/walking, swimming, golf, etc.) and nice spa
River-to-Ridge Trail
Pretty path for walking, running, or biking
Empire State Trail
This is a path runs all the way from NYC to Canada! It is great for biking, running, or walking!
Walkway Over the Hudson
Train bridge turned walkway with beautiful views of the Hudson and nice bike paths on either side

Water Street Market – open-air market in the center of New Paltz with food + shops Grazery- HIGHLY recommend their sandwiches Hokkaido – nice Japanese restaurant in center of New Paltz Bacchus — fun pub in central New Paltz with good food, beer, billiards The Bakery – homey cafe with good treats, classic New Paltz Gunks Gaming Guild Cafe — good coffee/tea selection and truly insane board game collection if you’re looking for indoor activities in New Paltz Main Course Marketplace – farm-to-table restaurant/to go spot with yummy salads in outskirts of New Paltz Twin Star Orchards – pizza, burgers, BBQ, and craft cider, outside in beautiful area outside of New Paltz Wildflower Farms — fancy hotel with beautiful views and great place to have a drink by the fire pit Gunkhaus — great restaurant with great porch and mountain views Mountain Brauhaus – classic German spot in Gardiner that’s also convenient if you’re hiking around Mohonk/Minnewaska area Cafe Mio – great brunch spot in Gardiner
