It takes 12 minutes to travel across town in Libertyville, and roughly 24.5 hours to travel across the world to Kochi, India. Some could say we chose the long route... Growing up in the same hometown and being 5 years apart, we never crossed paths in high school. After that, there was the occasional meal at the Green Room, or playing soccer at the same field in Chicago. However, it wasn't until our good friend was getting married in India that we truly connected. Adam was a groomsman and Annie a good friend to the groom's sister. We mutually knew who the other person was, but this was the first moment we were able to spend extended time together. We talked throughout the weekend, danced together, and spent time at meals with one another. But the real movement happened while taking a photo together, when Annie said, "send that to me." Adam promptly asked for her phone number and the connection was made. No time was wasted back in the states. Our first date happened just one week later at North Avenue Beach and we have been together ever since. Going on dates to our favorite coffee shops, taking walks along the lake front, battling each other in mini golf, and finding new restaurants across town - our love for one another has never stopped growing. Two years after our first date, Adam proposed at Coffee Lab and Roasters in Lake View, Chicago.
