Question

Are there events besides the wedding that I should know about?

Answer

Yes, there will be a Mehndi Sangeet Welcome Party on Friday -- this is totally optional but all guests are welcome! Please RSVP by July 1st for this event. After the reception, there will be an optional after-party also hosted at The Ivy Room, which all are welcome to attend. Additionally, some of the bride and groom's out-of-town family and friends will be attending The Cubs game at Wrigley Field on Friday, August 15th, at 1:20 pm (games usually last fewer than 3 hours). If you're interested, please join us at or near section 308L!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Suggested dress code is listed with each event on the Schedule section, but if you have specific questions, reach out! None of the events will take place in grass (although the ceremony will be outside, weather permitting), so feel free to go all out with your footwear. Please avoid bridal colors for the ceremony and reception (white, ivory, cream, etc); beyond that, please free to play with color! Bridesmaids will be wearing a butterscotch hue.

Question

What should I wear for the mehndi/sangeet?

Answer

Fun, festive clothes you can dance in! Wear wedding attire that you're comfortable in. Western clothes like dresses are perfectly fine! If you're interested in wearing indian clothes, here are some more details: For women, a lehenga or salwar kameez are common choices. Other options would include a pre-stitched saree or sharara set. For men, check out a kurta pajama or a kurta with a vest. If you'd like to buy online, Kalki Fashion, Utsav Fashion, Indya, The Saree Room, Pernia's Pop Up Shop, Indian Wedding Saree, Asos, Aza Fashions, and even Amazon have great options!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to capacity limitations, we cannot accommodate plus ones unless explicitly listed on your invitation. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We will not be able to accommodate young children, although some older children may be personally invited and will be listed by name on the invite. If you need help arranging babysitting care, you can reach out to us.

Question

Can we take photos at the ceremony?

Answer

Guests are asked not to take photos or use their phone during the ceremony -- it will be short so we don't want guests (or our photographers!) missing a minute of it.

Question

What do I do if I have a food allergy?

Answer

We are collecting allergies and dietary restrictions with RSVPs.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There isn't dedicated parking at The Ivy Room, however most hotels have parking options.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes, we'll be celebrating!

Question

What days are the hotel blocks for?

Answer

The hotel blocks are for Friday and Saturday night, but the group rate can be extended three days on either side, pending hotel availability.

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

Please do not feel obligated to offer us a gift of any kind (we really mean this -- we are very fortunate for your love and support and so just a card is plenty for us)! If you would still like to give something, please visit our registry tab. Please avoid bringing physical gifts to the wedding, as we'll be traveling from NYC.

For all the days along the way
