Annie and Chris first crossed paths on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis. Annie captained a kids’ pirate ship under her pirate name, Swell, while Chris was at the helm of a kids’ fishing boat, known in the pirate world as Smee. Their boats would pass, they’d wave, and sometimes Smee would pick Swell up to winterize boats during the off-season. Though Annie always loved how Chris made her laugh, they stayed good friends for a long time. That changed one summer when Annie returned to Annapolis and declared it her Single Girl Summer. Chris, newly single himself, jumped in with his own Single Boy Summer. That plan lasted about a week before they started spending every day together, working and hanging out on the water. And just like that, the friendship turned into something more. After two years of long-distance, Chris in New Jersey and Annie in California, they’re now happily together on the West Coast. But Annapolis will always hold a special place in both of their hearts, which is why they can’t wait to celebrate their wedding back where it all began.
