Keland & I met at a very transitional time in our life. I was lost trying to locate my friends. He was lonely looking for someone to spend quality time with. A man was harassing me for a cigarette. Keland was near by and heard me telling the man no! He didn't miss a beat asking if I needed help. I did i needed a place to charge my phone and when I finally looked at him. It was a moment I knew that would change my life forever. He had no clue where to charge my phone and looked so out of place in the rough downtown area. He pulled out his bible as he walked me towards the El Cortez. I thought he was crazy but yet something told me to talk to him, he was charming and very intelligent. I didn't think he would ever want to date someone with the baggage that I had but to my surprise he asked me if he stood a chance with someone like me. To both of our surprise we found a love like neither of us had ever experience. I remember asking Keland his thoughts on marriage and he said never I would literally die if I get married. So when he asked me to marry him I told him no I dont want you to die! He said I guess we'll have to take our chances cause I want you for my wife.
