FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by September 26.

Question

Do you have a wedding registry?

Answer

No, we have opted not to make a registry, so no need to bring cards or gifts. Genuinely, the greatest gift you can give us is your presence on our special day. However, if you feel inclined to give, please consider donating to one of the following charities chosen by us: - Malaria Consortium: A global health organization that specializes in the prevention, control, and treatment of malaria and other communicable diseases, primarily in Africa and Asia (https://www.malariaconsortium.org/) - Brain and Behavior Research Foundation: An organization that funds scientific research to better understand, prevent, and treat mental illnesses such as depression, schizophrenia, anxiety, and bipolar disorder (https://bbrfoundation.org/) - The Conservation Fund: An organization that works to protect America’s land and water resources by partnering with communities, governments, and businesses to promote sustainable conservation and economic development (https://www.conservationfund.org/) - Engineers Without Borders: An organization that partners with communities around the world to design and implement sustainable engineering projects that address critical needs such as clean water, energy, and infrastructure (https://ewb-usa.org/) - Folds of Honor: An organization that provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen or disabled military service members and first responders (https://foldsofhonor.org/) - Long-Term Future Fund: An organization that supports projects and individuals working to improve the long-term future of humanity, with a focus on reducing global catastrophic risks and promoting long-term well-being (https://funds.effectivealtruism.org/funds/far-future) (Or feel free to choose a charity that is dear to your own heart.)

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes prior to the ceremony.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We would consider our dress code to be "semi-formal." Feel free to dress up, but we want you to be comfortable! (Ladies, don't feel obligated to wear high heels unless you want to.) We also recommend picking clothes that will keep you warm in case of chilly October weather.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Our wish for our wedding is to keep it intimate and family-focused, so please do not bring any additional guests beyond the ones we have accounted for. We will let you know how many seats we have reserved for your party in advance.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes! Children will be included in your party number, but it is ultimately up to you whether you would like to bring them or not.

Question

What kind of food will be served?

Answer

We will be having a semi-late lunch around 3:30 pm, with hot and cold sandwiches, wraps, and quesadillas. There will also be a few sides, a variety of desserts, and three types of non-alcoholic drinks. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and meat options will all be available. Several items will contain dairy, but none have nuts.

Question

I have a food allergy. Can I make a special request?

Answer

Of course! Please leave any notes about food allergies or other dietary restrictions in your RSVP.

Question

Will alcohol be served at the wedding?

Answer

No, this will be a dry wedding, and outside alcohol is not permitted at the venue. If you would like to drink after the wedding, feel free to visit a bar/restaurant in Bedford or Bloomington. If you choose to do either, please make sure to arrange transportation from the bar/restaurant to the hotel (or wherever you are staying) for your safety.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We have reserved a block of hotel rooms in case anyone needs or wants to stay overnight on Saturday (the night before the wedding), Sunday (the wedding night), or both. The hotel is Hampton Inn at 1322 Becky Skillman Way in Bedford, Indiana. It is about 22 minutes away from the wedding venue. To book a room (or rooms) at this hotel, please see the instructions in the "Hotel" section of this website.

Question

Is there transportation from the hotel to the venue and back?

Answer

Unfortunately, no. Please arrange your own transportation via personal vehicle, carpool, Uber/Lyft, etc.

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes, there will be places to park on the gravel and grass. As you enter the venue, there will be a fence on your right; you can park facing that fence. Or on your left, there will be a section of gravel/grass; you can park in that section facing the building. There should also be a couple cars already parked in these spots, so you can follow their lead. Please do not park in the circle drive.

Question

Is there a designated smoking area?

Answer

Yes, if you want to smoke, please do so at the fire pit. The fire pit is next to the silo bar.
