Annette had just gotten into the online dating scene, but soon after found herself running low on luck with the pool of guys in Melbourne. She thought, "maybe I should branch out a little more.. Who knows, I might have better luck looking in Sydney?". So she went and browsed for a few minutes, all while worrying that looking for matches in a different city was a bad idea. She stumbled across a guy who had a cute smile, sent him a like, stopped browsing and went on with her day. After all, her dad was in town so she had her hands full keeping him company. After spending a year in Doha and a brief time back home in Portland, Benji decided to move to Sydney. Being new to town, he was keen to make friends so he downloaded a dating app he hadn't used for a while. He saw that a girl he thought was cute sent him a like, so he sent her a message, only to hear nothing back for the next few days. Having nothing to lose, he decided to double text! The girl ended up seeing his second text, they started talking, and the rest is history..

Benji moved to Sydney in January 2022 where he met Annette. A year and a half later, he moved to Seoul in August 2023. He then moved back home to Portland in March 2024, before moving to Seattle not long after, where he has lived in since. Annette lived in Melbourne this whole time.
