How We Met

His Story

There was a party at the Mundanthanathu house and I knew Annet would be there because they were cousins. I don't usually go to these types of events but I showed up that night with one main intention and I was not planning on leaving without her giving me her phone number. I got there relatively early and I was hanging out by the bar with my friend, Chris. I had my head on a swivel trying to find Annet. She finally showed up fashionably late. I immediately told Chris to hold my beer and I walked up to her. I sarcastically said, “about time you showed up.” She did her infamous eye roll and laughed it off. I thought in my mind I blew it already. Somehow, I recovered and we ended up talking throughout the night and getting to know each other a lot better than we ever had before. Annet said her goodbyes and walked out the door. Before I made my move, I wanted to make sure I got her brother, Godwin’s blessing. Once I got the approval, I had to make my moves quickly before Annet left. I found her sitting in her car. I walked to the window and knocked (She didn’t even roll the windows all the way down). I asked for her number, but she was not willing to give it right now (she said she was talking to someone but I had my doubts lol), I was persistent and I finally got her number. I was the happiest guy in the whole world. We went on our first date in May and we have two peas in a pod ever since.

How We Met

Her Story

Back in January 2018, I was at my cousin’s house for a house party. I was not expecting to see Jeff there so it was quite a surprise. I sat down by the bar and I was talking to a couple of my friends, when Jeff said, “about time you joined us.” Mind you we had never talked before so I was taken back when he said that but I just laughed it off. At first, we made some small talks and we went our separate ways. A few hours into the night, I saw Jeff coming back into the house and he sat next to me. One of his first questions was “what do you like to do for fun?” and I genuinely hate this question because I never have a good answer! Anyways, we talked about random things and I realized Jeff was genuinely a sweet person and down to earth. We spend a couple of hours talking to each other that night. It got late, so I said my goodbyes and headed towards my car. As I was waiting for my car to warm up and I saw Jeff walking towards me. Yes, I only cracked my window because it was cold. Jeff tried to spit some game and get my number. Although I tried to come up with excuses to not give my number, he was persistent and adorable so I gave it. He texted me that night to make sure I got home safely. Unfortunately, we did not talk much after that. We ran into each other again in May at my cousin’s house. Jeff suggested we hang out again, and I was single so I thought why not and If it didn’t work out at least I would get a free meal and drinks! We went on our first date on 05/25/18 and we have been together ever since! I truly believe that everything happens at the right time. I thank God every day for bringing Jeff and his family into my life and I can’t wait to see what life has in store for us!
