Although our roots were entwined in the same city of Kolkata, our childhood homes a mere five minutes apart, our paths converged in sunny San Diego, California, back in September 2020, in the middle of a pandemic. What began as a friendship blossomed into an epic journey as travel companions, and, almost mysteriously, love quietly took root along the way. From the majestic ridges of the Na Pali coast to the icy grandeur of Alaska's glaciers, we embarked on a year-long odyssey that illuminated our connection. It became undeniably clear that this was the love story we had been waiting for, the grand adventure that would shape our lives forever.

Shaan mentioned 3 times in a month he wanted to go to the Japanese Garden to see the cherry blossoms. Now if you know Shaan, you know that is NOT normal. So I knew he was going to propose. But I still remember when he got down on one knee, the world around just stopped, and yet was spinning very fast at the same time, and I knew that this was going to be the easiest YES I ever say. Later that day, Shaan got the biggest surprise himself, when during his surprise proposal party for me, among all of our friends I managed to surprise him!
