We originally met when we moved down the hall from each other freshman year of college. We ended up with a lot of mutual friends and a couple classes together. After Blake helped salvage my grade in Mechanics of Materials sophomore year, we pretty much became inseparable.

The very first time I made a trip to New Orleans to visit Blake, he took me to the French Quarter. We found "the lady" (as we so cleverly called the statue) while we wandered around, and we took a picture with the statue as a joke. After that, it became kind of an annual tradition. Once a year, we would take a picture with the lady. We were super excited for this year's picture because we would have Maggie in it. We planned to take our picture before going to Bourbon St. with our families. This time, Blake walked up with the dogs and got down on one knee. It was the most perfect proposal, and the best "picture with the lady" yet!
