Things To Do

We are so grateful for each one of you traveling near and far to celebrate with us, and we are delighted to welcome our out of town guests to South Louisiana. For those spending some time in New Orleans beforehand, we hope you enjoy the rich culture and cuisine of such an iconic city, and we have included some of our favorites spots and recommendations. Once in Houma, we invite you to take in the small town charm of the bride's hometown and experience its scenic bayous and swamps and unique traditions with some of our recommendations. Lodging suggestions can be found under the "Travel" tab. We hope your time "down the bayou" offers a glimpse into the place and traditions that mean so much to us and our story, and that you feel the warmth of Cajun hospitality throughout your stay. Some of our favorite spots:

Salon Salon

544 Carondelet Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

Our favorite date night spot in New Orleans to grab a drink and a bite, with a stylish vibe and unique design

Turkey and the Wolf

739 Jackson Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70130

One of our favorites-we even went here right after getting engaged! Recieved a Michelin Bib Gourmand for its inventive sandwiches (Get the collard green melt, and trust us, it is just that good)

Parkway Bakery & Tavern

538 Hagan Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70119

Our all-time favorite po-boy spot (also received Michelin Bib Gourmand distinction) Get the James Brown!

Compère Lapin

535 Tchoupitoulas Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

A really great, award winning Carribean-Cajun fusion restaurant that we love! The chef is a James Beard Award winning Top Chef finalist, which is one of our favorite shows to watch together. We suggest the curried goat!

Pat O'Brien's Courtyard Restaurant

624 Bourbon Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

One of our all time "touristy" favorites with hurricanes and live dueling pianos- a less rowdy option for those looking to experience Bourbon Street! Grab a lucky dog after for the full Bourbon experience!

TPC Louisiana

11001 Lapalco Boulevard, Avondale, LA 70094

Golf enthusiasts will enjoy TPC Louisiana, a scenic PGA Tour-level course set alone beautiful bayous- perfect for a day on the greens during your visit.

Annie Miller's Swamp Tours & Charters

1109 Dunn Street, Houma, LA 70360

A fun way to explore the swamps the bride grew up in for our out of towners! A favorite of guests we have brought down to Houma, where the tours are usually led by some quirky and entertaining locals!

Bayou Delight Restaurant

4038 Bayou Black Drive, Houma, LA 70360

One of many classic bayouside restaurants in Houma with live alligators swimming off the dock and live Cajun music/dancing (with a band and washboard playing to boot) during dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. Try the fried alligator!

1921 Seafood And Oyster Bar

1522 Barrow Street, Houma, LA 70360

The perfect place to enjoy some of the extensive seafood offerings of this Gulf town- one of the bride's favorite spots for charbroiled oysters and boiled crawfish!

Cristiano Ristorante

724 High Street, Houma, LA 70360

Italian favorites with a Louisiana flair, a local favorite for a memorable meal Houma is a very simple, laid back town- so this is a great option for a nicer meal or to grab a drink!

Mr Ronnie's Donuts

1171 West Tunnel Boulevard, Houma, LA 70360

A local staple for a reason and a favorite of all out of town guests! Though Mardi Gras season will officially start 3 days after the wedding, they may have king cake donuts available (one of the bride's favorites)!
