How we met - Anne’s version of the story working as a ski lift operator in Whistler — It was a long day shovelling snow and watching everyone else ski when all of a sudden someone fell off of my lift. I had to quickly call the emergency line for ski patrol. Moments later I looked up and it was as if I was watching the lifeguards of Bondi beach running towards me in slow motion. Yeah. Its an unwritten rule during a ski season to one- don't fall in love with a ski bum since they leave eventually and two- you never know what's under the goggles and helmet. I was never one to follow rules. We had a ski date but Tyler describes it as a ski test (to make sure I can ski) and I passed. The rest is history! Tyler's version of the story working as a Ski Patroller in Whistler — On a cold winters day during a blizzard, an emergency call for assistance came over the radio. A lift operator had an injured person at the top of the chair lift. I responded immediately, when I crested over the powder filled ridge I saw her standing in her lift operator uniform. I had to stop and take it all in and then I remembered that I was there to help someone and got to work performing first aid. I packaged the patient up but made sure another patroller transported them away so I could “interview” the lift operator. The interview is still ongoing 6 years later… It’s no secret that we’ve accomplished a lot together over the years; between both of us going to school, career changes, buying a floating house, and numerous adventures we are so excited to tie the knot. Looking forward to celebrating with all of you!
