Our story is not perfect, but it's real. We met in 2012 while both students at Ohio State University, both fashion majors. Annie first saw Marquise in the Student Union, and later that day told her cousin, “I saw my future husband today” The first time we spent time together was at his parent’s house in Pickerington, OH while they were traveling internationally (sorry Mom & Dad!) We listened to music, laughed, talked about life. We both had a feeling immediately that this was something special. A few months later, Marquise felt comfortable to introduce Annie to his son, Kobe. At the time, Kobe was not even 1 year old. This meant that he came along with diapers, tantrums, carseats, bottles, etc. While this wasn't an ordinary dating circumstance, Annie fell in love with both Marquise and Kobe. Now, after 10 years, we’ve experienced living in 6 different apartments, traveling to 12 different countries, 18 different states, making new friends, losing loved ones, and battling life's highs and lows together. Transparently, our biggest test was in January 2017, when Marquise received a new job opportunity in Ireland. Annie stayed in Chicago, and we did long distance for over 2 years. In 2019, Marquise came back to Chicago to be closer to Annie and their mischievous cat, Pablo. While this time apart was difficult and complicated, we both grew individually, & learned the most important thing you can do for the one you love - support them. Today, we are more certain than ever that we are soulmates and that we can get through anything together (even a 2 year-long pandemic 🤣) In February 2021, Marquise asked Annie to marry him. We are so excited to begin this new chapter together as husband & wife. Truthfully, our relationship would not be where it is today without the constant outpour of love & support from the amazing people that we get to call our family and friends. We feel so lucky & excited to have you join us as we say “I do” on May 28, 2022 in the city where we met! ❤️
