Travel Considerations

We recommend booking airfare sooner rather than later, as MRY only accepts smaller aircraft, limiting seating capacity and flight options. For guests flying in, we have selected the venues to facilitate walking and eliminate the need for a rental car unless you have specific travel needs. Pacific Grove/Monterey is very pleasant and safe to walk around.

The Old St. Angela Inn

We have a block on all rooms at a discounted rate for Friday and Saturday night. Please call the hotel to make a reservation at the discounted rate for the Summers/Mibeck wedding. It's a <5 minute walk from the church, and 5-10 minutes walk from downtown Pacific Grove and Monterey, respectively.

Flight

Monterey Regional Airport

Monterey Peninsula Airport (MRY) is the closest airport, it has limited direct flight options but we recommend flying here. San Jose (SJC) and San Francisco (SFO) are 1.5 and 2 hours away respectively. There is a shuttle that runs between these two airports and Monterey.

Travel Note

Groome Transportation

Shuttle service to/from SFO and SJC to Monterey. They offer hotel drop off at an additional charge. The round trip shuttle cost usually breaks even with the cost of flying directly to MRY, so we recommend this option only if timing is an issue for your flights. $51 SJC-Monterey $62 SFO-Monterey If you are able to travel with a larger group of 12+ who are traveling on the same flight or arriving at the same time, it is worth inquiring about group transportation. We have a large number of people traveling from Texas, Illinois, Nebraska, and other locations. If you provide us flight information we can try to coordinate a larger pickup.
