Best Man
How do you describe your best man? When we were young, I played with Matthew because I was supposed to; but somewhere along the way, I realized I wanted to hang out and do life with him as much as possible. Matthew is a true friend, ready to listen, encourage, share, and keep life fun. We have shared countless adventures, laughs, and good times together. His sense of humor might be ridiculous, but mine must be too, because he’s kept me laughing for years! He is one of the hardest workers I know, and I’m proud to call him my brother, best man, and . . . trusty 42 tournament teammate.
Groomsman
What do you call a brother, life-coach, and cheerleader rolled into one? Adam, of course. He has been a consistent source of strength in tough times and joy in fun times. He is intentional, loyal, and deeply committed to seeing me succeed. I can always depend on him to give me a pep talk when I need it and to have my back through thick and thin. Adam can talk up a blue streak, but most of it is interesting, all of it is well-intended, occasionally it’s even funny . . . and sometimes it’s just pure gold.
Groomsman
If I had to follow one man on the world’s most dangerous mission, I’d pick Nathan without a second thought. He is a man of courage, dependability, and clear judgment. He is a role model to me and someone I can always count on. Add to that the fact that he pursues a deep friendship with me and asks great questions, and I’d say I’m quite blessed to have Nathan as my brother.
Groomsman
Ben is my oldest brother. When I was little, he put up with my temper tantrums, and ever since, he has set a consistent example and offered wise counsel along life’s way. He sends eye-rolling memes to Matthew and me out of the blue – I think to remind me that he really is human.
Groomsman
Sky has been my brother-in-law for over a decade now and has become a trusted friend. He’s always ready to make me laugh or play a game, gives wise advice, and seeks out thoughtful conversations. I’ve learned alot about being a dad to little kids just by watching him – he rocks it!
Groomsman
Stuart has been my roommate and close friend ever since I started at SMU. He takes everything in stride, and is intentional, caring, and always has my back. He loves to cook, talk about Old Testament typology, and take pictures of me asleep on the floor of our apartment (it happens). So we’ve shared plenty of good meals, conversations, and laughs together!
Groomsman
I might have just roomed with James one year, but that was all it took to create a deep and lasting friendship. From late-night prayers to Colorado hikes, he’s been thoughtful, loyal, and patient with my goofiness . . . sometimes he even joins along with it☺!
Groomsman
Solomon once said that counsel in a man’s heart was like deep waters . . . Brett is one of the deepest men I know. A conversation about career advice soon led to a fast friendship. Brett is intentional about looking for God’s grace and work in everything in life, and he encourages me to do the same.
Groomsman
Ethan insists that whoever he rooms with gets married very soon, so I was grateful he wanted to be my roommate soon after Anne and I started dating! From late night conversations to cleaning guns together to trying to get me to appreciate Star Wars memes, Ethan’s been a fun guy for me to hang out with! He’s someone I can count on, intentional, a terrific cook, … and a bit of a baseball fanatic.
Groomsman
Seth started dating one of Anne’s friends a few weeks before I started dating Anne. One thing led to another, and we ended up as each other’s groomsmen:)! One of the first times I hung out with Seth we convinced a friend that we had served jail time together (not true, in case you’re wondering), and since then we’ve shared more laughs than I can count. Seth is sincere, easy to get along with, and a great encourager. Anne & I have shared so many adventures with Seth & Caroline … whether it’s a game night, escape room, the shooting range, or a trip to Broken Bow, it’s always a blast!
Groomsman
Michael is Anne’s older brother and my future brother-in-law. There are so many things to admire about Michael – he is a natural leader, and cares for those around him. He is always ready to make life fun and was the first to introduce me to mountain biking!
Groomsman
John is Anne’s younger brother and my future brother-in-law. He is welcoming, fun, and loyal. He taught me a new game the first time I met him and is always ready to live life to the full and keep the fun coming!
