As you may know, getting to this point in our wedding planning has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. Our original plan was to have the wedding on June 27, 2020. But, in May 2019 our first venue, the Allure on the Lake, was destroyed in a fire. So we quickly went back to the drawing board. Thankfully, we were able to change the date to June 26, 2020 at Journeyman Distillery without too much trouble. Then March 2020 rolled around and COVID threw a wrench in all of our plans. Without much insight into the future, we re-planned our wedding for April 16, 2021. In the meantime, we decided to go ahead and have a very intimate backyard wedding on June 26, 2020. Patrick's maternal grandparents were married on that date, and we were just ready to make it official! On June 26, with our siblings presiding via Zoom, our parents and grandma Suzie in attendance, and Anne’s step-dad making it legal (he’s a magistrate), we tied the knot. After June, we were still apprehensive about an early spring wedding, and rightfully so. In January 2021, we decided to significantly downsize our celebration and reschedule to August 6, 2021. We were able to keep most of our vendors and now have a space with indoor and outdoor access. It has been a lot of planning and re-planning, but now we are hopeful we can host an event that is safe, relaxing, and with those we love most.
