Alex is Annie's older brother and also her best friend. Sorry I meant, best friend's dad, Gus. Since Gus is unable to walk yet (will most likely be able to by wedding date but he is also much cuter than the bride therefore taking the spotlight away) Annie decided to ask Alex to avoid complications. He happily obliged.

Matt and Robert go all the way back, to birth. They are brothers. Besides being brothers, they are also best friends, with many shared interests. Matt introduced Robert to the one true love of his life- birding, and for that he is forever grateful. Matt also helped introduce Robert and Annie, which was pretty cool.
