The saying goes...never fall in love at the Jersey Shore, but that is exactly what Anna and Zach did. After a day spent on the beach and realizing both of their grandparents had apartments at the Berkley in Atlantic City, there was an immediate spark. Although it took a few weeks for Anna to agree to a date, in October 2016 she finally accepted. Their second date quickly followed at Shorty's, eating cheesesteaks and watching the Eagles... and the rest is history.
Planning a surprise proposal while quarantined with your significant other is no small feat, but Zach made phone calls from the closet and took up running for a way to make plans without Anna overhearing. A hike was planned with Anna's friends to get them out of New York City. When it looked like it was going to rain, and Anna's friend "came down with a migraine", Anna was ready to nix the plan. But, with some convincing from Zach to take advantage of the day, they borrowed their friends car and drove to Cold Spring. It ended up being a hot day and a steep hike. At the top, Anna insisted on finding a shady spot. Once they sat down Anna asked what snacks Zach had in his backpack, and after catching his breath Zach got down on one knee and pulled out a ring. Anna said yes, and Zach had a much more relaxing hike down the mountain.
