Ryan's Story pt. 1

The first night that I met Anna I knew that something special would come of our encounter. Of course, I was amazed by her beauty, I feel like that’s common for anyone who meets Anna. So immediately I was nervous to talk to her but something just kept pulling me to learn more about her. For those of you who know me, I naturally talked some crap while playing a competitive game against her. For those of you who know Anna, or have ever seen her play volleyball, know that she is quite the competitor. She always loves a challenge. That little bit of smack talk was the perfect challenge. After the games started to die down everyone was starting to head out to have a couple of drinks and try to have a fun night in Greensboro North Carolina. Once I found out that I was not riding in the same car as Anna I immediately started to worry. Thoughts going through my head were “I hope we are all going to the same place” and “I wonder if I’ll ever see her again”. I knew I had to ask her for her phone number just in case. So I did. Her response, “Well, you can just text Hunter Smith since we will go wherever he goes.” I was devastated. Never had I asked a girl for her number before and I was denied. I just played it cool with a “Oh yeah, You’re right! I didn’t even think of that” type of response. So we split up and I was just hoping that I would see her again. I get to where we all planned on going, the Green Burro, and I cant find Anna anywhere. I am starting to worry. Hoping that they would show up, I constantly keep looking at the door. Time passes which feels like hours. Finally, Anna came through the door and I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. I couldn’t stop thinking how she was the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. I approached her and asked if she wanted a drink, she was in her Cranberry and Vodka phase so that’s what she ordered. In a room, full of college kids enjoying a Saturday night, all I was interested in was learning more about Anna.

Ryan's Story pt. 2

That night, Anna asked me, “So, what do you want to do with your life?”. I replied with “Well, I think that I’ll get drafted this year and play professional baseball.” Her response to that was, “Ok, well, what do you actually want to do with your life?” Wow, I definitely didn’t see that one coming. So I started rambling off something about being a marketing major and working for a company to help them reach people or something like that, There is no way Anna would want to continue talking to me or potentially start a relationship with me in the future. So as the night wound down I asked Anna again her number and this time I got it. Finally. I sent her a text that night along the lines of “It was amazing to meet you and I hope we can talk again soon.” The next day I was checking my phone like crazy waiting for a response. Hours passed and I thought I would never hear from the most amazing girl that I have ever met. When she finally texted me back I think the next night the feeling of relief just rushed over me. Just knowing Anna, and creating a new friendship, would honestly have been enough for me. She is the most amazing person that I have ever met. She has always supported me through all of my struggles and successes. I am so thankful for the day that Anna and I met because it was the beginning of the best thing that has ever happened to me. I firmly believe that I am the luckiest man in the world having Anna by my side through life. I truly have become a better human being because of you. A lot of people say that but I really believe it. Thank you for being you, and I will be the luckiest man on this planet when I finally get to call you my wife. I Love you. я люблю тебя.
