    FAQs

FAQs

Question

Where can I stay near the venue?

Answer

Please look at the recommended hotels. Please note unfortunately there are no rooms available at Turningstone in any of their hotel accommodations. Our wedding date happens to fall on their big anniversary and their rooms have been blocked for their own party.

Question

Can I leave my car overnight at the venue?

Answer

Absolutely! The venue prefers that you leave you car and Uber to your next destination if you’ve indulged. Or car pool with someone, please just be safe!

Question

Will my song request get played?

Answer

We ask guests to provide a song that gets them up and dancing when they rsvp. We cannot promise it will get played- if it’s that awful we may have the dj call you out and make fun of you! Just kidding, maybe… however we do have some songs that will be on a do not play list and we ask that you do NOT ask the dj during the reception for any requests at that time.

Question

Is it a dj or band?

Answer

Both! We have Joe Battles and Brett Falso as our musical professionals. They will provide live music during dinner hour and dj for the cocktail hour and the rest of the night.

Question

What’s the grub a dub dub?

Answer

We have secured the best bbq in CNY that you will have ever eaten from the Cowboy BBQ! This will be buffet style as they are cooking on site. Dinner should be ready after cocktail hour, around 6pm. Menu: -Smoked Turkey -Porkloin -Smoked Mac and cheese -BBQ beans that blow grandma brown’s beans outta this world! (No pun intended!) -Coleslaw -Tossed salad We apologize ahead of time if this falls outside of your dietary restrictions. Please plan accordingly.

Question

What do you have for my sweet tooth?

Answer

We are foregoing the traditional cake and cake cutting. We will have a great spread of multiple mini desserts provided by the Sprinkle Shop! Whenever you need a sweet treat to curb your craving, just help yourself! Fun fact, the owner of the Sprinkle Shop, owned by Angel Allard, is a former student and athlete of Kipp! She’s even sweeter than the treats she makes!

Question

Where’s the favors!?!

Answer

Also going against tradition of giving out favors to our guests- not that we don’t appreciate you being there- but we thought the money was better served being used for a donation to a charity near and dear to our hearts in memory of Kipp’s beloved son Joshua. We have donated to Upstate Stroke Center in your names! We also have “The Social Spot” available for your little something to remember the day. Please feel free to use this unique photo booth that is totally digital! The perks is you get the photo electronically sent to you and so do we!

Question

Is there open bar?

Answer

As much as we’d love to get you hammered, it will be a cash bar only. If you plan on partaking in adult beverages, we ask you to remember your wallet as there is no atm on the premise. The bar will shut down a half an hour before the reception ends, at 9:30pm, and the reception ends promptly at 10pm due to noise ordinance rules the venue has to follow.

Question

Where can I smoke?

Answer

There are designated smoking areas at the venue. We ask that you please use them and clean up after yourself.

Question

Is this handicap accessible?

Answer

The main venue is upstairs in a loft in a barn. The bathrooms are downstairs however there is a handicap accessible elevator between the floors. Weather permitting we will have the ceremony out back near the chapel. It is a bit of a walk, if you need help getting to the ceremony area please arrive early and alert Alisha our wedding coordinator you will need a lift. They will provide a courtesy ride in their golf cart for those who may need it.

Question

Can I wander the grounds?

Answer

Yes! The property at the Hayloft on the Arch is beautiful and has a lot of great scenery and photo ops for you. Please check out the steers as well! They will really be moooooved you stopped by to say hi.

Question

What is that silo outside?

Answer

That my friend, is another bar. This is the cocktail hour bar area and the rest of the reception will have the indoor bar going.

Question

Should I wear high heels?

Answer

We highly recommend that you wear your dancing shoes that are either flats or wedges. The wedding ceremony is outside in the grass and your heels make sink in the ground. It is a little bit of a walk from the parking lot and there are also stairs in and out of the barn.

Question

Can I take pictures?

Answer

Please refrain from taking pictures or having your phone or camera out during the ceremony. We have secured an amazing photographer, Sarah Heppell Photography, to document our day and we’d like to see our guests faces not their cameras. After the ceremony, feel free to take any pictures you want and to use the Photo Booth! Don’t forget to send us any great shots you capture!

Question

Can I come early?

Answer

We do recommend arriving a little early of 10 to 15 minutes, so that you can walk down to the chapel area and get situated as the ceremony will start promptly at 4pm. (If it is raining we will be married inside the barn and you will be seated at your reserved table for the ceremony.) There are limited seats outside and some will be reserved, so some guests will have to stand for the ceremony. But we promise you, it will be a short ceremony and we won’t leave you hanging around!

Question

Can I bring a guest or my kids?

Answer

Unfortunately due to our venue size and our already large guest list, we could not add plus ones or children. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience, please know our hearts were in the right place when selecting our guest list almost a year ago. You will find your spouse or significant other listed on the rsvp when you search your name. This is an adult only wedding except for our own nieces and nephews.
