Danny and I met initially in 2015 when he hired me to do security with his company. We stayed connected as friends and didn’t think much of it. Chrishons football team was looking for coach and I knew he was a former football player so I asked him if he would be interested in Coaching. We started to hang out more and more and talk on the phone too. I helped him with his trip to Japan and was receiving updates while he was away. One night the ladies went out to celebrate a birthday and Danny offered to drive us all there and back to ensure we arrived safe and sound - that's the gentleman in him. At the end of the night we stopped for food at our local diner as we always did. As we were waiting for our food my girlfriends began to look at us and giggle - like how mature. We asked them what was so funny and they all instantly said "You two are perfect for each other." We looked at each other and it just clicked. He went low, I went high. There were fist pumps. We harmonized by accident. And lots of laughter. That’s pretty much when we thought, “Okay. This could be something.” and here we are; three years later, a house, 2 kids and planning our wedding,
We were on our annual trip to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina on a Navy Aircraft Ship doing what tourist do best. We arrive to the top of the ship and all seemed normal; the kids were running around not listening, Danny was complaining it was toooo hot (it was maybe 100 plus degrees in the shade that day) and I needed a glass of wine. I took a stroll to the edge of the ship to look out over the water when Danny walks up besides me and asks "So you having fun?" The sheer excitement in my "Umm Yeah" must have been his que that this is the moment. He pulled out a box from his shorts, DOES NOT get down on one knee (Magda took video - there is PROOF!) and asks "so you wanna do this?" I instantly start crying and recall asking numerous times if this was for real, the kids cheer, Magda and Paul congratulate us, strangers celebrate and its still 100 pus degrees on the top of this Navy Ship. Eventually when the uncontrollable shaking dies down, and the tears are gone I screamed and shouted "YES," and we were engaged. See you in 2020!!
