One of the first places Ben took Ann in the Bay Area! To relive their date, start the day at the Ferry Building for some unique shopping, and walk along the water to Pier 39 & Fisherman's Wharf to grab clam chowder in a bread bowl. In the afternoon, check out the Mission for a mix of cool stores, amazing burritos (try La Taqueria or El Farolito), ice cream at Bi-Rite, and special baked goods at Tartine Bakery. Golden Gate Park, the 16th Avenue Tiled Steps, Lombard Street, Dolores Park, Ghirardelli Square, and the Golden Gate Bridge are also popular sites to visit!
Ben's alma mater! Swing by to check out where he became a huge science nerd. Notable eats in the area include Gregoire's (cheese puffs), the Cheeseboard Collective (pizza), Asha's Tea House (milk tea), and Curbside Creamery (ice cream). On Sundays, Wat Mongkolratanaram is a Thai temple that serves a unique brunch at very reasonable prices. If you have a car, stop by the Lawrence Hall of Science for a view of the campus all the way down to the water.
Walk under giant redwood trees and enjoy nature just north of San Francisco. Hikes of all distances and difficulties available.
A moderate (6 mile) hike overlooking the Bay Area - amazing views but be prepared for hills. Build up an appetite to try more Bay Area foods listed above!
Great option for a day trip! Winery-hop and enjoy the (hopefully) beautiful Northern California weather.
One of Ben's favorite places to eat in California that still hasn't made its way to NYC. Lots of locations all around the Bay Area! Ben and Ann's order includes a Double-Double with grilled onions, animal fries, and a strawberry & vanilla shake. Enjoy!
Ann's favorite milk tea (try the creme brûlée) & popcorn chicken! Locations in Alameda & Castro Valley.
