To move around in the hotel zone, it is okay to use the bus (route 1 or 2). If you would prefer to use a taxi, DO NOT pick up a taxi on the street. ALWAYS use the taxis in the hotel, radio taxi (a hotel receptionist can help you), or a taxi in the “sitio de taxis” in the malls. These taxis are slightly more expensive, but much safer. Uber and Lyft are not allowed to operate in Cancun. Yes. Please note that it typically takes 4-6 weeks to receive your passport. Plan accordingly. It is a good idea to have a copy of your passport on you at all times, but to keep your passport in the hotel or some place secure. Here is the info on how to get a passport--you can choose to get the book or the card. It will cost $145 to get a passport book. If you want a cheaper option, it costs $55 to get a passport card. The day of the wedding we will provide a shuttle for everyone. The shuttle will leave from Holiday Inn. It is a gorgeous site on the beach outside of the city (Ocean Weddings). The ceremony will take place on the beach under a gazebo. Annie's brother Joe will be officiating the wedding. It is a symbolic wedding--Annie and Alberto will be getting legally married in the U.S. The dinner and reception will follow at the same location. We will provide a cocktail hour, dinner, dessert, and snacks. The entire event will take place outside, but dinner will be under an enclosed area (as will the ceremony in the event of rain). There is also a dance floor and we will have a D.J. to provide music. We recommend that you bring a sweater or other warm clothes because it will be windy. Guests should arrive at 4:30. The ceremony will begin at 5.
