Question
Is the altitude actually that big of a deal? How can I prepare?
Answer
Yes! We want you to enjoy your weekend as much as possible, in order to be best prepared, here are some of our recommendations. Hydrate! Purchase some electrolyte mixes and start drinking those a few days in advance of your trip and throughout your time here. We also recommend bringing (and wearing!) sunscreen and sunglasses as the sun is much stronger. It is also very dry, so have some chapstick handy as well. The temperatures can vary greatly as well, we recommend packing clothes for 85 degrees and sunshine and swimming in the river, as well as 45 degrees and chilly in the evenings.

When should I RSVP by?
Answer
We will be sending out official wedding invites in March, and would like if you could RSVP by May 1st. If you RSVP, and your plans change, please be sure to update your RSVP so we can be sure to properly account for our number of guests. The absolute latest we can confirm headcount to our vendors is May 30th.

Is there a dress code?
Answer
While there is no formal dress code, we do ask that you look nice. For the welcome party, we will be on a rooftop in town, while it should be warm, the mountains do get a bit chilly in the evening and we recommend bringing a light jacket. For the wedding ceremony, the ceremony itself and cocktail hour will be outdoors, with the reception being indoors and the attire is formal.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?
Answer
We have a room block at The Surf Hotel, which is also our wedding venue. We would love it if you could book a room with them first as we do need to fill our room block. In the event they fill up, they have a variety of home rentals on the same street that are available to book. They sleep anywhere between 2-13 people and can be found here: https://southmainco.com/south-main-vacation-rentals In the event those are both full, we recommend booking at The Inn, which is on Main St in Buena Vista. It is about a 10-15 minute walk to The Surf. (website: https://www.theinnbv.com/) There are also rentals available on Airbnb and Vrbo

Do you have a room block/discount? How do I book within it?
Answer
The room block is setup from June 21 - 23, 2024 Go to the website for The Surf Hotel, select "Book A Room" Type in your desired dates. Select "I have a group #" Enter the following group code: LAUGHLIN2024 You will then be able to book a room under the group block. We ask that you please book up the Chateau rooms first, as it is necessary to fill those in order to have our wedding in the courtyard (They are also pet friendly!). If you do not type in these dates, or do not type in the code, the system will show as no availability. Guests will be able to book one night within your block, but will only get the 10% discount when booking both nights & CHATEAU Guests will need to book both nights to book within your block. To reserve greater days, you must reserve over the phone at 719-966-7048. The hotel will be releasing availability for additional days in October 2023. Discount Code - LAUGHLIN2024

This is a no kids wedding, while we love your kiddos, please find appropriate child care coverage for the weekend events.

Can I bring a date?
Answer
Due to capacity limitations, only the individuals whose names are printed on the invitations or have "guest" listed on their invitation are able to bring a date. If you are unsure if you are allocated a guest, you will be able to tell when RSVP'ing. If you feel there has been a mistake, please reach out to Ryan or myself.
