Yes, a valid passport is required to travel to the Dominican Republic. Be sure yours is up to date before booking travel.

The closest airport is La Romana International Airport (LRM). You can also fly into Punta Cana (PUJ) or Santo Domingo (SDQ) — both are about 1 to 1.5 hours away by car or shuttle.
