Answer

EVENT DETAILS: Join us at Charleston's best rooftop bar to watch a gorgeous sunset and enjoy light bites and drinks. We are so excited to greet and welcome you to our wedding weekend! ATTIRE: The attire for the Welcome Party on Friday, May 30 is Colorful Charleston Cocktail. Women might wear dresses in pops of color (tea-length, midi, or knee-length). Men should wear a button-down shirt and slacks, tie optional, sport coat optional. In keeping with the colorful theme, feel free to pick a fun shirt, tie, and/or jacket with some color. LOGISTICS: The Bridge Bar Patio is located on the top level of the Rooftop Bar in the Vendue hotel. It is accessible via a designated elevator located down the hall from the lobby of the Vendue. Follow signs for "The Rooftop" elevator. Once at the top, the private area reserved for our party is located up one flight of stairs.

Question

What should I expect for the wedding day on Saturday, May 31?

Answer

ATTIRE: The attire for the wedding on Saturday, May 31 is Black Tie Optional. Women should wear a floor-length gown or a formal pantsuit. The bride's wedding party is wearing black satin gowns, so women should please avoid solid black. For men, tuxedos are encouraged. If opting for a suit instead, men should wear a formal suit in a dark color, a white shirt, and a conservative tie. The groom and his wedding party are wearing tuxedos. If you have questions about your attire, please reach out to the bride or groom. LOGISTICS: The Ceremony itself will be indoors on the second floor Rotunda of The Gibbes Museum of Art. Seating is open between 5:00-5:30pm, and the Ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30pm. After the Ceremony, the Cocktail Hour (with drinks and hors d’oeuvres) will take place indoors on the first floor of the Museum, followed by dinner and dancing outdoors in the Courtyard (where we got engaged!). UNPLUGGED CEREMONY: We request an entirely "unplugged" ceremony. Please **turn off** (not silence—turn off) your cell phone and put it away for the entirety of the ceremony. Our vows and the sacred commitment we are making are very important to us. We want everyone to be fully present in the moment together. Please respect our wishes; our wedding team has been instructed to remind anyone of our unplugged ceremony policy if they do see a phone out.

Question

Is there parking for the wedding at The Gibbes Museum of Art?

Answer

Yes. If you are driving and need to park, we recommend the nearby Queen Street Parking Garage or Cumberland Street Garage. Rates are reasonable; see https://www.charleston-sc.gov/1025/Parking-Information.
