If you're here for the weekend, about a 45-minute drive north of Pismo Beach is this lavish historic estate turned museum in San Simeon. Hearst Castle boasts architecture based on the Mediterranean Revival, Spanish Colonial, and Gothic styles. A guided tour ticket is required to visit. Tickets can be purchased online through the attached website.
