His Plan, Our Story

Ann never had any interest in dating apps. She only opened one because a friend insisted—and even then, she replied just enough so her friend would stop asking. In February 2024, one of those replies was to Josh. Josh had been on the app for almost six years, patiently hoping for something real. But their story didn’t begin right away. Ann left his message unanswered for over a year. It wasn’t intentional—she simply wasn’t looking for anything at the time. Then life brought her to the U.S. One day, a friend reminded her that her profile was still active. This time, something felt different. Ann decided to give it a real chance—and when she opened the app, she saw Josh’s message asking about her faith. At that very moment, Josh was already preparing to leave the app. But when Ann replied, everything changed. Hope returned. Wanting something more genuine, Josh asked to continue their conversation outside the app. Ann agreed, even though she still wasn’t convinced dating apps were for her. Their first call lasted nearly three hours. From the beginning, it was intentional—Ann asked deep, honest questions, and Josh answered with sincerity. They continued talking every week, slowly building something steady and real. In September, they finally met in person. The first day was simple—just the two of them, finally face-to-face. That evening, Ann met some of Josh’s family, making it even more meaningful. For almost two weeks, they spent time together every day, getting to truly know each other. It was during one of their conversations at Starbucks that everything became clear. Ann saw in Josh the man she had been praying for—someone who loves the Lord, serves in ministry, and leads with gentleness and respect. And for Josh, Ann was the answer to his prayers—a woman with a sincere heart for God, a love for ministry, and a desire to serve the church. In that moment, they both knew— this wasn’t by chance. Their relationship was from the Lord.

The Man She Prayed For

Ann didn’t just pray for a man—she prayed for a relationship that honored God, one where Christ would always be at the center. She longed for a partner who would walk with her in faith, support her in ministry, and serve the Lord alongside her. She was open to singleness, yet she entrusted this desire to God. Having never been in a relationship, she chose to wait with intention—guarding her heart and staying rooted in her faith. Then came Josh. As she got to know him, she began to see her prayer unfolding—not just in who he was, but in how he loved God. And she realized, this wasn’t just the man she prayed for, but the kind of relationship she had been asking God to write. A love centered on Him, built for His purpose, and guided in His perfect time.

What He Asked God For

Josh had been praying—not just for a partner, but for a woman who would walk with him in faith. He prayed for someone with a heart to serve, someone who would stand beside him in ministry. A woman with a strong faith in the Lord, who would seek His kingdom first and grow with him through Scripture. He prayed for a future filled with purpose—for a family they would raise together, grounded in faith and guided with intention. He longed for a partner who would show grace, give selflessly, and reflect Christ’s love to others. He asked for a relationship marked by encouragement, accountability, and growth—where they would challenge one another to become more like Christ. He prayed that they would be quick to forgive, slow to anger, and strong enough to face life’s challenges side by side, never against each other. He hoped for a love built on respect, choosing each other not only in the easy moments, but especially in the hard ones. Above all, he prayed that their marriage would honor God—that together, they would shine brighter for His glory than they ever could apart. And when he met Ann, he realized… God didn’t just answer his prayers— He gave him someone with an even greater heart. A love that wouldn’t just comfort him, but refine him, challenge him, and draw him closer to Christ.

His Perfect Timing

What began as a simple conversation two years ago slowly grew into something deeper. Nearly a year of truly getting to know each other led us here—engaged, and now preparing to be married. To some, it may seem quick. But when you know, you know. It was during a simple Starbucks date that we both realized something beautiful—we had been praying for each other long before we even met. We once talked about waiting longer, following our own timelines. But God gently reminded us that His plans are always better than ours. And along the way, we heard the same question from others: Why wait, if you’re already sure? So here we are—choosing to step forward, not in haste, but in peace. Confident, certain, and anchored in the truth that God is the Author of our story. And as we begin this next chapter, we do so with full hearts—trusting that the One who wrote our beginning will faithfully lead us through everything that comes next.
