Their story began back in seventh grade, when they were just kids becoming friends in middle school without any idea of what the future had in store for them. They quickly became close, spending time together at school, laughing with friends, and building the kind of friendship that felt effortless from the very beginning. By eighth grade, their friendship had turned into something more. On their class trip to Washington, D.C., Hardy asked Anna to be his girlfriend — making him Anna’s very first boyfriend ever. Even at such a young age, there was always something special about the two of them and the connection they shared. Before starting high school, they briefly went their separate ways after Anna thought she would be moving schools. Even though she ended up staying, life pulled them in different directions for a little while, and they didn’t really talk again until spring break of freshman year. But no matter how much time had passed, they both always knew there were still feelings there. After reconnecting, they spent months hanging out, making memories, and picking up right where they left off. It all felt natural — like no time had passed at all. Then, after many late-night talks, fun summer days, and realizing they never truly stopped liking each other, Hardy asked Anna on their first official date in late June. A few weeks later, on July 7, 2021, he asked her to be his girlfriend again, and this time it was forever. One of the craziest parts of their story is that they have lived only a mile down the road from each other this entire time — through middle school, high school, and even now. Somehow, through every stage of life, they were always right there near each other. Since getting back together, they have grown up side by side and experienced so many important moments together. They celebrated their 18th birthdays, graduated high school together, and welcomed their sweet golden retriever, Oakley, who has become such a huge part of their little family. They have also celebrated their 20th and 21st birthdays together, continuing to build a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Then on November 21, 2025, Hardy asked Anna to marry him — the easiest “yes” after years of friendship, growing up together, and loving each other through every chapter of life. What started as a middle school friendship became the greatest love story they could have imagined. From living a mile apart as kids to building a future together as adults, they truly believe they were always meant to find their way back to each other.
