Casually scrolling on dating apps with friends, Anna liked to send funny pick up lines to guys for fun. One night, Walter was the lucky guy and in my surprise he responded and kept it going. We laughed and exchanged numbers and started a very serious game of 8-ball over text, and yes he kicked my butt. After a few weeks of texting, we decided to go out for drinks and meet for the first time. Walter likes to say I forced him to go on our first date, but I think it was mutual :) Despite his first words to me being, "Wow, you really are tall.", we hit it off and had a great night. We talked for hours, literally around 7 hours that night, and we both knew we had just met someone special. It didn't take long before we made things official and now we are celebrating spending our lives together!
It all started when we not so randomly went "ring shopping" to see what Anna wanted. Then and there I knew I could make the commitment she had been begging me to make. Not long after, I was told I could tag along on the Van Dusen family vacation to Mexico. After Anna coincidentally set up family pictures in Mexico I had to design the perfect ring with her cousin Shelbi. I then planned a trip to Sioux Falls to retrieve the precious cargo. What Anna thought to be a routine boys trip was nothing short of a secret mission and the realization that I was going to marry my best friend. With the help of her family and Scotts blessing (which was given on a beer run). I proposed to Anna on the beaches of Cancun, where we shared tears and beers with her family.
