It all started when Anna saw Tom shooting hoops at the University of St. Thomas gym. She says it was his tall build and brunette features, he says it was his smooth jump shot; either way, he caught her eye. Anna took matters into her own hands and asked a mutual friend to pass along her info. Shortly after, the two officially met on the dance floor at Plums Neighborhood Bar & Grill, and the rest is history. About 1 year later, in 2020, the world shut down and their classes moved online. The two spent lockdown in Wisconsin, splitting time between their families. Those months of movie marathons, video workouts in the basement, tik tok dances, and time with their favorite people brought the two of them closer than ever. After graduation, Tom moved back to the Twin Cities for work and Anna started graduate school in Milwaukee. The next few years of long distance consisted of weekend visits, vacation trips, and a lot of Facetime calls. Following Anna's graduation in 2023, they were finally reunited in the Twin Cities and moved into an apartment in downtown Minneapolis. The next year was full of amazing memories and milestones as Anna and Tom started building a life together. Finally, on August 9th, 2024, Tom gathered their closest family and friends at Sovereign Estate Winery (their favorite winery in Minnesota). In the midst of the vineyards overlooking Lake Waconia, Tom got down on one knee and asked Anna to be his forever. Since their engagement, they bought their first house in Little Canada, MN and welcomed the cutest chocolate lab, Frankie, into their little family.
