We met at a ballroom dancing class! He came in with his grandmother to see the class and I still remember his warm smile when we locked eyes across the room. I remember thinking I probably wouldn’t ever see him again. Yet after returning from some time off from an injury there he was in my class! We became fast friends and after about a year or so of being best friends we started dating almost 11 years ago and have been together ever since.

I had spent half a year searching for the perfect gemstone for Anna’s engagement ring. She’s put up with my shenanigans for so long she deserves the best. Once I had her ring I planned for us to go on a date. We chose to go to Salem, Massachusetts and spent the day exploring the town. I planned for us to go to the local park where they had a decorated gazebo because Anna isn’t big on being the center of attention. I set up my phone on video mode pretending to take a cute picture of us and then got on one knee and proposed. I must have done a good job keeping it a surprise because Anna was in shock and thought I was playing a prank.
