Modest, church attire is appreciated! For gentlemen, please no hats, bare shoulders or shorts. For ladies, we kindly ask that you wear sleeves, a skirt or dress, and a head covering of some kind. Thank you so much for helping us honor this special occasion!
We understand that this may be an emotional moment for some, however, please refrain from cheering, clapping, side conversations, comments, and other such celebratory expressions inside the church!
We will provide pamphlets prior to the service to those unfamiliar with Orthodox weddings. A general note is that if you feel like something is "missing" or different then you expected please refrain from making such comments during the service. If you have any specific questions please do not hesitate to reach out!
During the reception you absolutely can, but we would ask you to refrain from taking pictures during the actual ceremony. We will have a photographer to provide pictures during it.
In many Orthodox Churches, the parishioners stand for the service. There will be several seating options alone the side of the church, some of which will be reserved for the family of the bride and groom. If you have a serious need for seating during the service, reach out to us! The duration of the service will be around 45 minutes to an hour. Keep in mind that it is a very small space, so as much as you are comfortable with try to make room for others!
