In December of 2019, the year before the world changed, Anna and Riley met online through Minecraft. Riley and Meagan—Anna’s sister—had been playing on the same Minecraft realm for several months when they invited Anna to join the game. Anna and Riley clicked almost instantly and quickly became best friends. What began as late-night conversations turned into long-distance movie nights, countless Minecraft adventures, and years of growing closer across the miles. Five years after that first game, Riley made the drive to Savannah while Anna was attending Savannah College of Art and Design. The bond that began as friendship slowly became something more. Seven months later, they officially began dating, and while long-distance love is never easy, it was always worth it.
