Anna's Side

I had double pink eye!

Some of you know our story and some don't. It really was a situation of right place, right time. Chelsey had been after me for years to meet her older brother. I honestly just did not want to. I was not really into being set up and having to force awkward conversations with someone I didn't even know. Then, I ended up leaving NSU which made her mission even harder, but she kept on. I had just started seeing someone, but it wasn't serious when I got a message that Richard was single and would be in Natchitoches the first weekend of November. I planned to go, but to just ignore this boy that they had waiting for me. The day before I was supposed to go, I woke up with a vicious bout of double pink eye! I couldn't go to Natty! Everyone thought that it was just another scheme to get out of meeting him. A month later, I went to the Christmas Gala and I saw him walking up the steps to A.A. Fredericks. I knew who he was immediately. After the show, we met at The Darling House. We sat on the front porch and talked about everything under the sun. 5 hours later, we were still in our not-forced, not-awkward conversation. The two years that followed were incredibly hard, but I was never more sure of anything in my life. Long distance is not for the faint of heart, that is for sure. But when we FINALLY got to the same town, this amazingly kind, generous, thoughtful, handsome man decided he wanted me to be his wife. He has helped me to grow, he's helped me to find real joy, and he can hang with the Domingue crew...soooo....yeah. I have to keep him! January 11, 2020 can't come soon enough!

That One Time in Natchitoches

Anna and I met through my sister, Chelsey, and it goes a little something like this... Chelsey kept going on and on about a friend of hers that I just HAD to meet, while also being in Anna’s ear about me. Chelsey has always been the typical protective, likes-no-one, little sister when it came to my relationship choices. So, this one had to be different! Originally, when I supposed to meet Anna for the first time, she conveniently got “pink eye” (I still don’t believe the whole pink eye story lol) and couldn’t make it to Natchitoches that weekend. Within that next month NSU was having a Christmas Gala and we went back to visit Chelsey. This time Anna was able to make it. That night comes and I’m walking around outside of the event center and Anna walks right by me, not 2 feet from me, but she didn’t even notice me. I just kept telling myself “That was her! That was definitely her!” Later that night, after the Gala, we officially met, and I kid you not we talked for HOURS, about anything and everything! Chelsey might have been on to something! Our relationship started out long distance, which I always told myself I would never do, but this Louisiana girl was worth every mile between us. It was hard at times but even in the toughest times, it still felt so right! After two years of long distance we are now living our best lives in Allen, TX. This woman has made me a better man in every way. She opened my eyes to a true, genuine love that I had never felt before. I love this woman with every ounce of me! I say all that to say, listen to your siblings…they know you better than you think… Thanks, Chels!!
