Our story is a little different than most. It took years in the making. Raja and I met a few years ago, and we did not like each other at all. He presumed me to be a bratty, self-absorbed, americanized Indian girl; I thought of him as a typical flashy Indian guy who knew more about sports cars than anything else. Over the years, we grew to know one another, each other's life experiences, and we became fond of each other. You see, we had a way of orbiting around one another all these years-- we would run into one another at weddings, if one didn't reach out to the other for dinner, the other one would. Finally, last year, I reached out to Raja and we decided to have dinner once again. Little did we know what it would lead to. We left dinner that night with the notion set in mind that we are giving us a try, no matter the risk this time around. You see it is true what all those stories, movies, and love songs say about love. Love is patient, love is kind, love happens at the right exact moment for two people in their lives. It cannot be forced any sooner or later. It has its way of coming around when it is meant to be.
