We met at Franklin & Marshall College in Bonchek College House in March 2013. When Nolan first saw Anna, he couldn't stop staring. They soon began to speak everyday and Nolan asked Anna to be his date to his tennis formal. After that night they would become inseparable. On May 16, 2013, Nolan asked Anna, through text message (!), if she would be his girlfriend and she said YES!

Nolan and Anna planned a trip to Paris for their 5 year anniversary. On May 11, 2018, Nolan proposed to Anna on a bridge overlooking the Eiffel Tower. Nolan hired a photographer to meet them on a bridge, but without wifi they were not able to connect. Nolan took Anna to numerous bridges all around the Eiffel Tower, while Anna complained about her decision to wear wedges and the blisters that were quickly forming on her feet. Anna decided it was time to eat dinner, but Nolan had other plans. He gave his iPhone to a teenage girl on the bridge and told her to, "keep snapping." Nolan got down on one knee and popped the question and Anna replied with, "of course!" It didn't go as planned but it was absolutely perfect.
