Question

Will there be transportation between the venue and the hotels?

Answer

Yes, a 56 person bus will be making rounds between the venue and hotels on Dec 16th. The hotels are right next to each other and about 10 minutes from the venue pending traffic. There will be two pickups at the hotels traveling to the venue at 3:15pm and 3:45pm. The bus will then make trips back to the hotels every hour on the hour starting at 9pm until the last bus departs at 1215am after our After Party. The bus is a 55 person shuttle -- if you take the last shuttle, we can't guarantee seats for everyone so be prepared to Uber! Ubers are typically plentiful around these venues on weekend nights.

Can we park at the venue?

Answer

The venue offers complimentary valet parking and self parking on site. Guests can park overnight for free in a gated lot at the venue only on Saturday Dec 16th into Sunday Dec 17th. Cars must be picked up by 12pm Sunday Dec 17th. Be sure to get your ticket validated by the venue doorman or coat check before leaving the reception.

Is parking offered at the hotels?

Answer

Both hotels offer daily parking, for $30-$50/day depending on valet or self-park. There are multiple public lots and garages around the hotel area associated with the Newport Mall, at variable rates. Street parking is also available around the area. Parking enforcement is typically lax around Jersey City except for designated street sweeping times.

How should I get around NYC/JC?

Answer

Most of our wedding events are located in Jersey City, NJ across the river from Manhattan. To get to Manhattan, consider taking the PATH train from Grove St or Newport. These trains run every 3-11 minutes from 6am - 11pm. PATH trains run every 40 min to NJ after 11pm, so if you are in Manhattan after 11pm consider timing your departure according to the PATH schedule or taking an Uber (beware surge pricing!). We often take the PATH into the city and Uber home. Within Jersey City, we recommend using Uber, PATH trains, and NJ Transit Light Rail trains to get around. Uber is by far the easiest. Depending on surge pricing you can expect Ubers within JC to normally cost around $10-$25. PATH and Light Rail trains are also great, but operate on reduced schedules over the weekend. The hotels are closest to the Newport PATH stop and the Newport Light Rail stop (two different stations). Both train systems offer apps that offer real-time schedules but don't allow you to purchase tickets via the apps. Jersey City is also a relatively safe urban area and very walkable!

Do you recommend any restaurants or bars in JC?

Answer

Will you provide hotel bags or other favors?

Answer

Many of our guests are staying outside of our hotel blocks or live in Manhattan so we will not be providing hotel welcome bags. We will be providing "Build Your Own" favor bags at the end of the reception offering some toiletries and snacks that you would expect to get in a hotel gift bag.

What COVID precautions will be in place?

Answer

There will be no significant COVID accommodations during our ceremony and reception. We want everyone to enjoy this celebration, and encourage all of our guests to do whatever they need to feel comfortable and safe...masks are fine with us if it makes you comfortable!

What food will be offered during cocktail hour?

Answer

We have lots of folks with different dietary needs so we want you to know what's on offer to best pick out food that suits you. Passed hors deouvres will include asparagus crostini, seared strip steak, marinated black pepper tuna, chicken empanadas, pigs in a blanket, salmon Napoleon, and portobello tostadas. Food stations will include a cheese and charcuterie table, a bruschetta and crudite table, a meat grilling station, a taco station, a BBQ meat station, and a Mediterranean station.

What beer, wine, and liquor will be served at cocktail hour and the reception?

Answer

Beers: Stella, Coors Light, Corona Wine: House Red and White Specialty Cocktails: The Undaunted (bourbon cocktail flavored with apricot) and an Espresso Martini Specialty Mocktail: Virgin Vizcaya (rosemary and pear flavors with club soda) NA options include: Celsius energy drinks (limited number at select bars), soda and juice, coffee and tea service after dinner Scotch and cigar bar outside on Second Floor from 8-945pm Premium Open Bar liquor and spirit selections Hard seltzer available during the after party while supplies last

Are kids invited to wedding events?

Answer

We sure love your little ones, but we ask you leave the kids at home for our wedding events, as we are close to venue capacity and the venue isn’t particularly great for young kids. However, we say this with some caveats! If you have or will have a child under 6 months old at the time of our wedding, please let us know! A few members of our bridal party will have newborns and we plan to welcome these tiny honeybuns with some special accommodations. If figuring out childcare will prevent you from attending our big day, please let us know and we can try to figure out a workaround. NYC is magical for kids/teens during the holiday season and we hope those who are interested get the chance to explore it as a family! If you plan to bring your kids and need a babysitter during our ceremony/reception, please let us know. We can recommend some nannies and babysitters for Saturday night!
