How to get to Castell de Tamarit

The castle is located near the town of Tarragona, about 90 km (56 miles) south of Barcelona. Here's a breakdown of how to get to the Castle: FROM BARCELONA: From Barcelona, the most convenient and affordable way is to take a train from Barcelona to Tarragona and then use local transportation or a taxi to reach the castle. 1. Head to Barcelona Sants Station (Estació de Sants). 2. Take an RENFE Regional train to Tarragona. The journey takes about 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes, depending on which train you take. Trains run frequently throughout the day. Check schedules on the RENFE website or app. https://rodalies.gencat.cat/en/horaris/index.html 3. Once in Tarragona, you can either: Take a bus or local train (the local Renfe commuter train, R13 line) to AltafullaTamarit station (close to the castle) and then take a taxi. Alternatively, take a taxi from Tarragona station to Castell de Tamarit (about a 10 minute drive). If you prefer to DRIVE, you can rent a car and head south from Barcelona. Route: Take AP-7 Highway (the Mediterranean Highway) south toward Tarragona. Exit at Altafulla/Tamarit (exit 32), and follow the signs to Castell de Tamarit. The drive usually takes around 1 hour and 15 minutes. You can also take a long-distance BUS from Barcelona's Estació de Sants or Barcelona Nord Station to Tarragona. The bus journey takes around 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours. After arriving in Tarragona, follow the same procedure as with the train: take a taxi or local transport to the castle. FROM ALTAFULLA: 1.
