Our story started thanks to mutual friends, but from the very beginning something about it just felt natural, like we had somehow known each other for years already. Conversation came so easily, and before long spending time together had quietly become the best part of both of our days. Our first date was at Moncus Park. Anna brought hot chocolate, and we spent hours walking around the park talking about everything we could think of! Afterward we went back to Anna’s apartment and played Mario Kart on her Wii. Marcus won every single race, which he would like everyone to know was a very impressive and totally fair victory. Anna, however, would like everyone to know she is still waiting for her rematch. Moncus Park ended up becoming a really special place for us. Not only was it where we had our first date, but it’s also where Marcus would later propose, with his brother secretly hiding nearby with a camera ready to capture the moment. These days you’ll usually find us watching Star Wars, spending time outdoors, or just relaxing at home with our pets. Marcus’s dog, Izzy, quickly stole Anna’s heart and is now very much our dog. Anna also has a cat named Spooky, who Marcus claims he doesn’t like… but we all know she has him completely wrapped around her paw. One of the most meaningful parts of our relationship is our shared faith. Our relationship with Christ is something that has brought us closer together and continues to guide the life we’re building. We love going to church together every Sunday and growing in our faith side by side. As we prepare for marriage, our hope is to keep Christ at the center of everything we do and to build a marriage that reflects the love, patience, and grace that God has shown us. As we look ahead to this next chapter, we feel incredibly grateful and excited for everything the future holds. Marriage feels like the natural next step in a story that has already brought us so much joy. We can’t wait to keep growing together, supporting each other through whatever life brings, and creating many more memories along the way. Most of all, we are so thankful to celebrate this moment with the people we love as we begin the rest of our lives side by side. "Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man." — Proverbs 3:3–4
