Our Story
2017-2018
King High School
We first crossed paths in high school nearly eight years ago — yes, we’re high school sweethearts! Lucas had just transferred to King High at the start of junior year and barely knew anyone. Joining the soccer team helped him settle in, but neither of us knew that the most important connection was still to come. Now, King High was a bit unusual. It’s an IB school, which meant the “IB kids” (Anna included) and the “traditional kids” (Lucas included) didn’t interact much. Different schedules, different hallways, even different lunchtimes — it was almost like two schools in one. So, how did we meet if our paths rarely crossed? The answer: Instagram. Yep, Anna followed Lucas first (her friends wanted to, but she was the brave one). That small click turned into conversations, and eventually into our first in-person meeting in the library during study hall. Fun fact: Lucas swears Anna was reading her book upside down when he walked up — Anna denies it to this day. From then on, we were inseparable. Homecoming came quickly, and soon after, Lucas asked Anna to be his girlfriend in the Barnes & Noble parking lot — complete with flowers, Skittles, and rain. Romantic, right? (Well… we think so.)
2018 - 2025
College & Beyond
We’ve been growing up together ever since. We both went to Florida State University, graduating in 2021 during the pandemic (our “spring break” ended up lasting forever). After that, we packed up and moved to Austin for graduate school at the University of Texas, where we made lifelong friends, discovered the best BBQ, and brought home our wild chocolate lab, Rainey. And then came the big moment — the proposal. After years of adventures together, Lucas finally popped the question on May 10, 2025, in Chicago, where we took our very first solo trip together five years prior. He’ll tell you he had it all planned out perfectly, but between nerves, excitement, and a few happy tears, things didn’t exactly go “according to script.” Thankfully, Anna still said yes (and looked pretty great doing it).
2026 - Forever
Mision Lago Estate
Looking back, we feel so grateful to have found each other at 17. What started as study hall conversations grew into years of late nights, cross-country moves, shared dreams, and countless adventures. Through it all, the laughter, love, and even the challenges have only made us stronger. And now, here we are — starting this next chapter surrounded by the people we love most.
