FAQs

We hope we have covered your key questions already, but if you have any questions we haven't included below please let one of us know.
Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our wedding will be a traditional church wedding, so we'd love for you to wear spring formal/cocktail attire. Think suits and ties for gentleman, and cocktail or maxi dresses for ladies. The Bride also kindly asks that you avoid wearing whites or creams, and requests a hat-free wedding. While we're hoping for a beautiful spring day, we can't guarantee that it will be warm and/or dry! The church may also be a little chilly. When considering footwear, you may wish to bear in mind that there will be grass and gravel at the reception venue if you would like to explore the grounds (fun fact: there are resident alpacas at the venue), however it will not be essential to walk on.

Question

What's the easiest way to get from the church to the reception venue?

Answer

There unfortunately isn't any public transport between the two venues, however it is just an 18 minute car journey between the two venues. If you don't plan to drive, please check the 'Travel' page for local taxi companies, and check with Anna and Lewis if you have any questions.

Question

Can I take and post photos at your wedding?

Answer

We would love for our ceremony to be camera and phone-free throughout, so please keep your devices tucked away and let our photographer work her magic for us all in the church. Once we have all left the church, we are very happy for photos to be taken and shared as and when you wish!

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

There will be drinks provided throughout the day and there's a fixed tab for some wine/beer/soft drinks in the evening, but you may still want to buy additional drinks if you have a specific preference, or to fuel your dance moves! Please also note it is a cashless venue.

Question

I don’t know any hymns/it’s been a while since I went to church! What do I need to know?

Answer

We have chosen 3 hymns that are easy to follow along, and you’ll have the words in your order of service. If you want to familiarise yourself with them ahead of the day, you can find them below! Lord of all Hopefulness - https://youtu.be/PNlLEl8rkSA?si=Nuf8BTrhnqX3fNUO Love Divine - https://youtu.be/0gvCODgV1fc?si=sAia8dZvOQLCJBeX Jerusalem - https://youtu.be/MKRHWT6xdEU?si=ihSlZ5jSJ0RF84Ge The only other thing to note is that there will be a collection for the church and a local Children’s Hospice during one of the hymns, so you may wish to bring some cash. There is also a card reader upon entry/exit to the church.
