Here's the thing...when we swiped right we didn't know what we were looking for. Joey was moving to Boston in a month and Anna had just moved to the area. But hey, let's just get coffee why not. Anna was already overcaffeinated upon arrival and Joey offered to share his pistachio muffin. There wasn't a free seat in the house so we just stood in the background of someone's zoom work meeting - on a Saturday?! It didn't take long to get into the real stuff - we shared about our families (Anna was thrilled to hear that Joey has sisters and Joey loved hearing Anna gush about her small but mighty clan), what we like to do for fun (Joe spoke enthusiastically about working on his dorsal flexion in his free time), and people watched (Anna did voices for the group of people who had unfortunately locked themselves out of their car in the parking lot, very high brow stuff). It was two strangers having coffee, and after a few hours we both had to go and get on with our everyday tasks, grocery shopping for both of us coincidentally. But we both left the date thinking....why do I feel like I want to go grocery shopping with this person I just met? And that is how it has felt everyday since, that literally anything would be made better by doing it together. For us, the magic has always been in a cup of coffee and sharing a muffin; has always been in sharing stories of and time with our families and dear ones; has always been about laughing about the little stuff. We can't wait to start this new chapter together, with all of you by our sides.
