We first locked eyes at work. We met near a perpetually broken printer. The sound of the copier opening and closing, the shuffle of papers, the exasperated voices of our co-workers... these are the sounds around us that locked our hearts. A work lunch along the Chicago river was our first date. We drank a beer and didn't actually touch our food. We like to think mid-afternoon margaritas and fried chicken on the Parson's patio in Logan Square on a warm Friday afternoon was our first official first date too.
It was snowing. Christmas gifts were strewn on the floor. Our puppy Peyton appeared in the living room with something mysterious on his collar. "What's on Peyton's collar?" That's when Joel took the ring, proposed, and Anna said, "I do."
